Newcastle opens new horizon for tradesman
Posted on January 06th 2010
At the end of November Newcastle City Council announced their pans to refurbish a handful of schools in the city. The schools set for state of the art refurbishments include, Gosforth Junior High, Sir Charles Parsons Special School, St Mary's RC Comprehensive and Walker Technology College. The plans for the improvements come as part of the new Schools for the Future (BSF) scheme.
The renovations will include modern designs, which enable better energy conservation, economical solutions and state of the art technology designed to save on general bills. The installs will include biomass boilers, recycling centres and lights and taps that know when to turn themselves off.
The build will require a variety of tradesman including, electricians, plumbers, plasterers and many more. As this is such a high spec and high profile refurbishment it will be required for all tradesman to have their own public liability insurance. This will allow them to work on the site, so should anything go wrong such as negligence or damage to a third party they will be covered for the loss or damage occurred.
The transformations of these schools also include a £12million plan to install smart meters in schools across the UK.
